How to Set Up Custom iOS Icon Apps: A Step-by-Step Guide

So you've just purchased one of our lovely icon packs (or found a different pack elsewhere!) and you have no clue how to install them. Here's a simple to follow guide to talk you through every step on setting these icons up on your IOS devices! This same guide will work for iPads as well.

This guide is written for IOS 17.4 but should work for most IOS versions. There may be slight differences, should you need any help please feel free to join our discord server to ask for help or reach out on our contact form!

Step 1: Choose Your Custom Icons Before you begin, you'll need to prepare the custom icons you want to use for your iOS apps. You can use any image properly sized, the recommended image size is 180x180.

If you have purchased an icon pack from us, open the Dropbox link from the email

Step 2: Create Shortcut for Custom App

  1. Open the Shortcuts app on your iOS device.
  2. Tap the "+" icon in the top right corner to create a new shortcut.
  3. Tap "Add Action" to choose an action for your shortcut.
  4. Search for and select "Open App" from the list of actions.
  5. Tap "Choose" and select the app you want to create a custom icon for.
  6. Tap the three dots (...) in the top right corner to access additional options.
  7. Tap "Add to Home Screen."

Step 3: Customize Shortcut

  1. Tap the shortcut name field to customize the name of your app.
  2. Tap the icon next to the shortcut name to set a custom icon.
  3. Tap "Choose Photo" and select the custom icon image from your photo library.
  4. Adjust the shortcut settings as desired, including the color and glyph options.

Step 4: Add Shortcut to Home Screen

  1. Tap "Add" in the top right corner to add the shortcut to your home screen.
  2. You can drag and drop the shortcut to rearrange its position on the home screen.
  3. Repeat steps 2-4 for each custom app icon you want to create.

Step 6: Test Your Custom Icons Once you've set up your custom iOS app icons, test each one to ensure they open the corresponding apps correctly. If any issues arise, you can edit the shortcuts and adjust the settings as needed.
